Before the new post comes up I have only ever been to a few away grounds outside of england.
In the late sixties I worked as an apprentice designer for christian dior in Krefeld and lived for a year in gelsenkirchen.
it was then mainly a coal mining are and if you wore a white shirt to work it was black by the evening.
I went to Schalke’s old ground and saw a pre season frendly against chelsea. I reckon i was one of about 5 englishmen in the crowd.
Gelsenkirchen has changed tremendously since then and has good access to Dusseldorf and Koln.

I read something that made my stomach turn. There were calls (for many years now) to tax financial transactions and use the money to eradicate the poverty in the world. And guess what, the new tax has now been agreen in EU, but it is going to the WEU coffers, not to help the poor!!!
