I wish I could Evonne, normally I can say something along the lines of “their keeper had a worldy” “we were unlucky in front of goal” etc etc. but we didn’t create a meaningful chance and Norwich had quite a few.

Mannone’s honeymoon is over, distribution was poor as was his command of the area. The goal is not 100% his fault. But I’m drawn to a quote from Bon Wilson recently “in my day we would know in the first two yards of flight where the ball would go, now the keepers don’t know until the last two yards”.

But that’s a known, and keepers train with the balls every day, we must be able to get better at reacting.

Arsene is right we didn’t look focussed and you can’t just wait to be handed results in the PL.

But surely we also can’t become a bad team overnight? We outplayed Liverpool and City, plus others. A manager can do everything the same but the players for whatever reason don’t perform, when they cross the white line it’s up to them. Every pundit and his dog predicted a whitewash, maybe the players just expected a stroll in the park, as the players took the pitch the ESPN pundits said again “Norwich have no chance” but then John Barnes said the truest words “But this is football, anything can happen”. And it will always happen when you take the field expecting to win rather than trying to win.

Here’s the thing I’m trying to think rationally, and like Sharkey said last night how can a talented group of players be so toothless?

Two weeks ago we all commented on how much better it was to have the experience of Pod, Santi, BFG and Arteta in the team, able to realise we have a problem and help others around them to get the job done.

Can we put yesterday down to a freak performance, I sure as hell hope so, otherwise we are back to square one if not zero.

Whilst we are suffering injuries it’s no excuse as the team that took the field yesterday should have had too much for Norwich…..we simply didn’t turn up. I was disappointed with the result against Chelsea because of the way we conceded, yesterday was worse because we didn’t show up at all.

Come On Raddy …. Shape Up. This isn’t the end it is just the end of the beginning. We have seen the team has quality but they were poor yesterday.
