Love the site but I live in the Far East so am 8 hours ahead of you lot. I’m at work when the first posts come in and usually under the cosh, so I seldom actually read the site then. Then there’s the long commute home, and if I read the site, which depends on how tired or busy I am, the salient points have all been covered in the first few hours and the focus among the posters has gone, so it seems a bit pointless posting. Bit like this post, which is for yesterday’s article.

It just seems pointless bringing in more strikers in January (unless absolutely needed) when we will have Afobe and Campbell coming back from loans pushing for more chances.

Then again if by some miracle Falcao was available and was willing to take a pay cut then…Afobe who?

Morning kelsey, no not at all It’s just that I can’t see us having 2 £10m + central strikers, so a replacement wide player for either Theo or Arsh would seem more likely – but I suppose that player could simply be categorised as a striker.

If Chamakh left we wouldn’t really need to replace him because he brings nothing to the side any way.

Hi again, my earlier comment is just an illustration of how stats can tell 2 completey different stories.

We are in a better position than last year and have played more of the tricky fixtures at this stage.

As far as signing a striker in January is concerned (yawn), I think it is more likely that it will be a replacement striker/winger for Theo than a central striker. Its not AW’s style to undermine a player like Giroud by bringing in a replacement after only half a season.

To be honest, I find it astonishing that so many column inches are being devoted to new signings and to transfer hysteria in general in the middle of feckin October.

And there was us thinking the madness might be over for at least 3 or 4 months after August finished.

By the way we are buying one of two strikers on our radar, come January.No names, just be patient. All that tells me is that formation will change and either or both Walcott and more likely Arshavin and Chamakh will be off. (Info from mertesacker)
