@Kelsey@8:21 Thats wishfull thinking about all transfers and loans should be concluded before the transfer window opens/starts.
I don't doubt that there is a personal gain for the Glazers, but the only gain presently is that their net assets are improved in the holding company.

One big difference between them and Kroenke is that the Glazers set up a new company which only has one business (holding shares in ManUtd) whereas we were bought by a company already in existence and already holding other sports teams.

I said at the time of the acquisition that there was possible revenue from associated business, KSE owns a ticket selling operation, last season AFC paid Ticketmaster a share of revenues for handling that operation, I have not yet bought tickets to see of that still applies.

I must admit I'm not sure why some travelled and others didn't, Theo, Ox went, BFG, Pod, Giroud, and Kozzer didn't. Altho Oxhad said that he was asking the boss if he could come in early and I would guess Theo has a more natural fitness without working too hard. (and it doesn't hurt that he is the big thing amongst our Asian groupies :) )

Hi GIE,

I have been out of the loop for a while and that makes sense about the players not going to Asia, yet Chamakh was actually dropped by morocco so if he had played we wouldn't have had one first team striker.

i have read the Gllazers intent and I do belive they are trying to achieve a balance but also to get beneficial gain.

Morning Kelsey good to see you on here. I am not concerned either way about RvP, I guess that's why I do not feel like the club is putting me through the wringer as Evonne does. If he is still here .... the more the merrier...if he goes.... well we will survive.

A number of players didn't travel to Asia due to the late return from the Euros, I think we were hardly into pre season when we went and it appears judging by pics on the web that we are really putting the fitness miles in now.

Cologne will give us an indication of where we are and it appears RvP may have to travel with us. With Afobe off on loan I guess we are keeping at least one of Cham, NikB and RvP to keep us covered up top. I'm trying to work out where we are on the 25 man squad (over 21).

I believe the US owners of United are not listing for personal gain but to reduce the debt and interest burden, they need United to be successful on pitch to gain from an eventual sale, the interest has meant they are struggling to do that. Stan has structured his purchase of Arsenal much differently.

Morning all,

and thanks LB for putting a different slant on the RVP saga.
Football is " a funny old game" and I wonder what would have happened if RVP had been injured last season which wouldn't have been a surprise.
He wasn't and on the whole had a fantastic season and was mainly responsible for us achieving third.
I have looked at the situation all ways and have come to the conclusion that is better for all concerned if he now left and my hunch is that it will be to Italy.
I was a little perturbed to hear that our two new signings will have to be gently intoduced into the team ( a quote from Wenger) and I still don't understand even allowing for the commercial aspect that we went to Asia with only one recognised striker in chamakh.
Less than two weeks to go and the rumour mill and speculation keeps increasing as we are being linked with more and players.
Theo's situation should have been sorted out by now.
Our Pole in Goal WIL be a great keeper but is still prone to making bad calls and we need a back up more experienced keeper, but I haven't heard of anyone mentioned as Fabianski is definitely not the answer, and I understand he wants first team football.
Then there is Arshavin. What is actually going on with him ?
Jenkinson was involved in the mauling at OT and it is expecting too much for him to step into Sagna's shoes, he needs time, and I don't buy that others in the squad who are not right backs can cover.

How long will Wilshere be out, i stated we wouldn't see him until the end of the year, which will mean 18 months out and can he recover,a doubt must exist.

I say all this as we are not a mid table club but one who could challenge with a bit of luck.

The Glazers have shown their true colours and they are not the first American owners who are only in it for personal gain (Gillett and Hicks) and I think regardless of what happens this season Kroenke will remain Silent Stan. I am not advocating usmanov as a better choice but I hold my belief that the Board , Wenger and some players are all pulling in different directions.

IMO, time for a reality check, and all transfers be they buys or loans should be concluded before the season starts.

UNLESS the Club REALLY doesn't know yet about the future of van Persie, I think it is cruel to put through yet another summer of waiting and worrying. It was bad enough last year, but to do it to us again seems wrong.

Mo is definitely a Gooner, he has trained with the players before so maybe counts RvP as his friend and has split loyalties.

I heard Matt Lucas talk about Theo, they are also good friends, and he was similarly supportive of the choices Theo may make. It's a difficult position I guess.

But for me:

Da da da da Mo's a Gooner
da da da da Mo's a Gooner

(to the Sol tune).
